Theoretical and practical training

Do you work in the legal, health, or education field? Interested in learning about conjugal violence and coercive control?

The Regroupement team provides a range of interactive, practice-oriented training content tailored to your organization's specific needs.

We offer you a variety of formats, either in person or online, from a one-hour awareness-raising presentation to a full day of training combining theory and case studies.

With the help of our training courses, you'll develop practices to improve the safety of victims.

Here are some questions that our training courses can help answer:

  • How does coercive control play out in victims' daily lives? What impact does it have on the lives of women and children who are victims?
  • What are the latest legislative changes in criminal, family, or youth law that take into consideration the notion of coercive control?
  • How do you identify coercive control in a conjugal violence case?
  • How do you document it in a legal or medical file?
  • What skills and know-how should be prioritized when conducting interviews or accompanying a victim?

Here are some of the learning objectives of our training courses:

  • Develop a common understanding of the notion of coercive control.
  • Learn about the main legal advances in coercive control in Québec, Canada, and internationally.
  • Understand the importance of actively detecting and documenting manifestations of coercive control.
  • Properly assess the situation to ensure the safety and freedom of victims.
  • Learn appropriate skills and know-how for communicating with and supporting victims.
